Teckelhut Acres

We are a small scale farm that raises rabbits for meat and for show. We raise four different varieties of rabbits and have show and pet quality rabbits available on occasion. We are always striving to improve our lines of rabbits to the standard of perfection set by the American Rabbit Breeders Association.

Our farm is nestled at the foot of Long Butte between Bend and Redmond in beautiful Central Oregon. Teckelhut Acres has been in business since 1986.

Breeds of Rabbits we have to offer

Dutch Rabbits: Dutch rabbits are a step above dwarf rabbits. They mature to between 4 to 5 1/2 pounds. Their destinct markings remind one of a Boston Terrier dog. They have a very laid back easy going personality that makes them a perfect pet for young and old alike. Always curious and easy to train, they are the perfect starter rabbit for a first time rabbit owner.

New Zealand Rabbits: We have the much sought after Manuel lines. The New Zealand has been the "go to" rabbit for years for meat production. Maturing to between 8 and 12 pounds they are easy keepers and breeders. They have large litters and are excellent mothers. I have been in the rabbit breeding business for several years now. I have tried other commercial breeds but none of them could hold a match to the New Zealands when it comes to meat production. That is why I am back with the breed again.

Beveren Rabbits: The Beveren was recognized in 1898 and was named after the town of its origin in the Waas region of western Belgium. We have standards Beverens. They are a rare breed and are listed in the Livestock Conservacy as a recovering breed. This is great news as they were once listed as critical. Their laid back attitude makes them popular for a pet as well as the meat and fur rabbits the breed was originally intended for.

Rhinelander Rabbits:  The Rhinelander rabbit is a very unique breed, known for their beautiful coat with distinct markings that certainly make them stand out from the crowd. These bunnies are large, often weighing up to 10 lbs, and are commonly seen as a show-rabbit. Despite their size, these rabbits can make a wonderful family pet and get on very well with children. They are docile and friendly rabbits that love to socialize with their people, and will often be found hopping their way into your lap! The Rhinelander is classified as a rare breed by the Livestock Conservacy and has been placed on the watched list due to its decline of breeders. We Rhinelander fanciers are working hard to prevent this.

We are proud members of:

American Dutch Rabbit Association

American Federation of New Zealand Rabbit Breeders
